The Ronnie Rally

The party was at Ronnie's from Friday, June 6th through Monday, June 9th in Silver Springs, NV. Ronnie and his wife, Claudine, were very gracious hosts and I think all would agree it was a terrific rally. Claudine, bless her, worked overtime to keep 30-40 people fed each day. Most of us set up tents in the front yard, a few took the garage and a few slept in the house. As it worked out, most of us had met at previous rides, so there was lots of socializing (drinking & story-telling) among "old" friends, a little work in the garage, and some Karaoke for those so inclined. Oh, and some motorcycle riding.

The unofficial attendee list:
Ronnie & Claudine -- and a steady stream of family and friends.
byufan, BoulvDozer (Utah)
Polovision, Soda Pop (California)
Goofee12, Gigi85 (Nevada)
Duffy, Countersteer, Fredericksen Flyer & FlyingJLady, OTG, vol210, Gettod1, jmax99 (Washington)
crochammer (B.C.)
Krusty & Noodles, Wood Welder, Dave, Don, Canuck Rider (Alberta)
--- missed and not present, ailing brothers Alberta Rider and Hiway Thunder.

My camera didn't come out much during the rally. Other cameras were out, and Noodles was confiscating memory cards to compile everyone's photos to share with all, so I saved my memory cards for the road. I will have the collection later, but only have a few to share here.

Some of the bikes lined up at Ronnie's.

Tent city...and flag pavilion. U.S., Canadian and each state and providence of the attendees.Saturday Ronnie led us on a ride to Virginia City, where we killed a few hours. After Virginia City we rode to Reno for dinner and a little time at the casino.

The lineup Saturday morning, at Claudine's store on the highway. Virginia City, NV...Street Vibrations Rally was going on in Sparks, NV so we were not alone.
Virginia City is an old mining town, with many of the original buildings still standing. There are still working mines in the area, but the town has long since converted to a tourist attraction.
Wood Welder...looks pretty comfortable.
A look down the hill, off the tourist drag.
Sunday's schedule started with a big breakfast, a ride led by Polovision, and a return home to a big spaghetti dinner, followed by other festivities. Polo led us on a long ride through the mountains, a stop in South Lake Tahoe and the return home.
A few pictures from the day's ride.
Ronnie and his Volusia.
Stopping to check out the view.
